Applications are invited for a Project Coordinator to support academics in the Learning and Human Intelligence Group focusing on two significant centres - The Raspberry Pi Centre for Computing Education Research, led by Dr Sue Sentance and the Cambridge Institute for Automated Language Teaching and Assessment (ALTA) led by Professor Paula Buttery. The Project Coordinator will work closely with Dr Sentance and Prof. Buttery as well as with their research groups to assist in the overall day-to-day operations of their centres. The role holder will also frequently interact with the Department's Research Strategy Team, who support academic researchers and students in conducting research and engaging with industry and other organisations, and will benefit from being part of a growing network/community of project coordinators across the Department.

Duties will include:

  • event management and organization (e.g., conferences, seminars, and workshops)

  • administration of grant budgets, monitoring of expenditures, processing expense claims and invoices

  • purchase and management of equipment

  • supporting and contributing to the development of project documentation (e.g., core project documents, draft meeting agendas, minutes)

  • supporting the lab's internal team management systems; and liaising with schools/teachers and scheduling research activities.

There will be aspects of data analysis involved, compiling reports, preparing, and drafting presentations, briefing notes and correspondence

The ideal candidate will have experience of the administration of projects in higher education or similar environments. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise with academic colleagues and researchers as well as the ability to address and communicate complex information to individuals and groups at all levels will be required. The successful applicant will have excellent writing skills and experience of writing reports.

The post is part-time (50% full-time equivalent) with flexible working hours.
