Summary of the role

A full-time Laboratory Technician post is available immediately in Technical Services, http://www.exeter.ac.uk/departments/technicalservices/

The Laboratory Technician will support the MRC Centre for Medical Mycology within the College of Life and Environmental Sciences. The Medical Mycology Centre’s vision is to facilitate innovative and world leading multidisciplinary research that will substantially advance our understanding of fungal pathogenesis and host immunity. The post is based in the state-of-the-art laboratories of the MRC Centre for Medical Mycology and the post-holder will be expected to contribute to the highly collaborative and supportive ethos of the Centre.  

The primary role of the Laboratory Technician is to support research laboratories based in the Geoffrey Pope building on the Streatham Campus but the successful candidate could be called upon to work in any of our research laboratories. http://biosciences.exeter.ac.uk .

We are looking for an individual with exceptional communication and time management skills, who will provide professional technical support to staff and postgraduate students in a research laboratory environment. You must be able to work independently, using your initiative to tackle any problems, whilst having the confidence to work collaboratively with technical staff in the Medical Mycology Centre plus other teams both within Technical Services and across the University.
