Laboratory Technician

The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences are looking for Laboratory Techician, who may have a special interest in Biomechanics and or Sport and Coaching performance analysis, to join the Sport, Exercise and Nutrition Science Technical team to assist with day to day running of the department’s labs. The succesful candidate will be a flexible team member working on average 18.5 hours a week to develop, organise and prepare practicals working individually and as part of a team. Assisting in Faculty wide technical support as and when required and supporting research projects and student projects.

You should have:,

  • BSc in a relevant area, or substantial, demonstrable science based laboratory work experience
  • substantial Lab based work experience
  • demonstrable awareness of health and safety issues
  • experience writing SOP, COSHH and Risk Assessment
  • the ability to work flexibly as part of a small team and independently with minimal supervision
  • Disclosure and Barring Service clearance.
