Loughborough University is seeking to appoint an experienced technician in the multi-disciplinary School of Science.  The post holder will provide technical support in the Chemistry Department to support and enhance the department's technical, teaching and research capabilities.

 Working under the general guidance of the Technical Tutor/Senior Technician, duties will include: assisting with the provision of chemicals and materials for research projects; maintaining a chemical inventory; ensuring equipment for standard and more specialist techniques (e.g. GCMS, LCMS, RAMAN) is ready for use; assisting in the disposal of waste chemicals and equipment, and implementation of laboratory Health and Safety procedures.

This role would suit someone with a chemistry background, and good working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety regulations and practices. The successful candidate should be a highly motivated individual with good practical and communication skills who works well as part of a team.
