Overview

About the Role 

You will provide comprehensive technical support in the Centre for Biochemical Pharmacology aiding both the laboratory manager and the centre leads by ensuring the safe and smooth operation of the research laboratories. The role will involve maintaining essential stocks, ensuring equipment is correctly maintained, training new starters in the Centre and helping maintain a safe laboratory environment amongst others. 

About You 

Candidates should have a degree in a relevant subject area and be highly enthusiastic to work in a busy, research-intensive Centre within the Institute, so experience working in a laboratory will be essential. 

About the William Harvey Research Institute & the Centre for Biochemical Pharmacology 

The William Harvey Research Institute (WHRI) is based within the John Vane Science Centre on the Charterhouse Square Campus of Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, within Queen Mary University of London. The WHRI has three core strategic themes: InflammationCardiovascular and Endocrinology with a mix of basic scientists and clinicians benefitting from strong links with Bart’s and The London NHS Trust. The Centre for Biochemical Pharmacology provides a focus for ground-breaking research into understanding the mechanisms of inflammation aimed at development of novel therapeutic entities. It consists of 60+ researchers including 15 members of academic staff.
