About this role :

The School of Health and Social Wellbeing runs a full time HCPC validated/SCoR accredited BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography programme, and a range of related postgraduate and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes. It is also running a new BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Imaging Practice Apprenticeship programme.

Responsibilities of this post will include:

Educational Excellence: Delivering high-quality teaching and assessments across our undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Your expertise will contribute significantly to module leadership and curriculum development, ensuring our courses remain at the forefront of the field.

Student-Centred Approach: Acting as an academic and personal tutor, you will offer tailored support to students, guiding their academic journey and fostering a supportive learning environment that values diversity and inclusivity.

Research and Innovation: Supporting undergraduate research, you will mentor students in their academic inquiries, encouraging a culture of inquiry and innovation.

Clinical Engagement: Overseeing practice placements, you will ensure students gain valuable clinical experience, essential for their professional development.

Collaborative Development: Working closely with the Diagnostic Radiography team, you will contribute to curriculum development and quality monitoring, ensuring our programs align with industry standards and embody the values of excellence and integrity.

Contribution to Wider Programs: Your role will extend to providing input across various programs, including the BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography, the BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Imaging Practice Apprenticeship, and CPD modules, reflecting our commitment to comprehensive education in the field.

Your role as a Lecturer in Diagnostic Radiography will not only impact the immediate academic community but also contribute to the wider field of Diagnostic Radiography and healthcare, embodying our university's values.

About you :

The school is seeking a suitably experienced Diagnostic Radiographer who can demonstrate a range of experience within Diagnostic Radiography specialising in cross sectional imagingA strong understanding of assessment and management strategies, clinical reasoning, application to practice and contemporary healthcare is essential. An ability to demonstrate previous university and/or practice based educational experience is also required.

The successful applicant will have sound experience in a range of Diagnostic Radiography practice especially in Computed Tomography as well as experience of working within an interdisciplinary team.  He/she will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to close team working.

A Master’s degree would be an advantage; however applicants with evidence of study at post graduate level, university teaching and/or a research profile within Diagnostic Radiography or related area would be positively considered. 

The applicant will need to be registered with the HCPC as a Diagnostic Radiographer.

This post is based at our Glenside Campus which is set within beautiful grounds in Stapleton, just three miles north east of Bristol City Centre.

This is a permanent post and is full time working on a 1.0 FTE contract.
