You will obtain competitive funding for salary and research support from appropriate government, charity and private organisations. Play a key role in the development of strategic funding bids in collaboration with colleagues at the Institute and partner institutions and oversee the management of technical staff and postdoctoral fellows, and provide supervision of DPhil students, including training and mentorship.

You will hold a relevant Ph.D/D.Phil and/or post-graduate medical degree (M.D.) with significant post-qualification research experience, have a record of outstanding accomplishment with an established international publication record that demonstrates international authority in tissue biology and have experience of managing research projects/programmes and staff including training and mentoring. A record of outstanding accomplishment with an established international publication record that demonstrates international authority in tissue biology, the ability to work effectively under pressure and collaboratively and experience of training, mentoring and developing technical staff, graduate students and post-doctoral scientists is essential. This is a full time fixed-term appointment for 5 years (in the first instance).
