The Role

We are looking for a passionate Junior Sous Chef to support us in our delivery of dining vision at the College. Responsible to the Head Chef, the Junior Sous Chef will manage one of two teams of chefs producing food for students, Fellows and staff, including the Masters Lodge and also our conferencing business.

The role will support the Head Chef and the Senior Sous Chefs in all aspects of food preparation to the highest possible standards using both modern and classical techniques.

You will take pride in customer satisfaction, willingness and flexibility in preparing a diverse style of dishes at both large and small volume levels and seek to instil creativity into your team on a daily basis, whilst managing menu planning and having some menu input.

As a Junior Sous chef, you will have the highest knowledge of health & safety and HACCP, and be responsible for its daily checks and appropriate food ordering and planning, amongst other responsibilities.

This is a permanent, full-time role, 40 hours per week. The salary for this role is £33,074per annum.

Gonville and Caius College is one of the largest colleges in the University of Cambridge.
