Permanent position, 36.5 hours per week.
We are seeking to appoint a Job Search Assistant to work as part of the frontline careers team. The post holder will be part of the team delivering our careers drop in and will be the first point of call when students require feedback on applications and advice on interview preparation. The post holder will work extensively with students and graduates on a one to one basis and will deliver predesigned workshops to help enhance their employability. When demand for frontline services is less busy, the post holder will contact recent Warwick graduates, offering information and advice, referring to members of the wider careers team for more complex enquiries.

Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
To provide high quality careers information and assistance to all students and graduates across the university, helping them develop employability and career management skills in accordance with the department’s strategic objectives. This will include encouraging student and graduates to consider and make the most of the full range of opportunities available to them, to enhance their employability.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide quick-query style support to students through the various stages o the application process, through the provision of both one to one bookable appointments and careers drop-in. The post holder will develop knowledge reflecting the diverse range of destinations Warwick Students go into and will draw upon this knowledge to provide tailored one to one advice to students. Diagnose student need and where appropriate make referrals to appropriately qualified staff for specialist support both within Student Opportunity and within the wider university. Promote the benefit of students engaging with the wider offer from Student Opportunity including, Warwick Volunteers, Work Experience, Study Abroad and careers fairs and events. Provide support for students in accessing these opportunities.
2. Delivery of a pre-designed career management workshop programme through both face to ace (group) and online delivery.
3. Supporting the proactive contact of Warwick graduates by making initial contact to establish levels of support which are required and where appropriate making referral to the departmentally linked Senior Careers Consultant or Careers Project Officer.
4. Support with the delivery of student facing employer events by meeting and greeting employers and registering students attending skills workshops.
5. Respond to the changing recruitment landscape by engaging with the student body and other key stakeholders through social media platforms. Generate content for social media o support student engagement thorough technology.
6. Contribute to centre-wide small scale projects which complement the existing employability initiatives, providing opinion and expertise gained from student interaction.
7. Attend meetings with recruiters to ensure up to date understanding of graduate recruitment processes.

Educated to A-Level or equivalent. (a)

A qualification in IAG (Information, Advice and Guidance level 3 or above) or experience of working within careers information, advice and guidance. (a)
