Post Type: Part Time
Contract Type:
Release Date: Thursday 15 February 2024
Closing Date: 23.59 hours BST on Wednesday 03 April 2024 (unless otherwise stated)

Do you have the skills and abilities to become an examination invigilator for the University of Kent at our Canterbury campus?
We are now inviting applications for Invigilators for the summer of 2024. The Student Record Administration Office and its team of Invigilators are responsible for ensuring that University exams run as smoothly and efficiently as possible and in accordance with the Conduct of Examinations regulations.
Invigilators are engaged on a temporary basis. Please note, these are not substantive University appointments and Invigilators are only required to carry out the main bulk of invigilation shifts between May and June 2024.
You will need to have good availability during the exam period, which is Tuesday 7 May to Friday 14 June 2024. Whilst we will do all we can to avoid scheduling exams on a Saturday, there is the possibility that this may occur. You will be asked about your availability for the entire exams period as soon as your application is confirmed as a successful. Invigilator shifts are 08.30 to approximately 13.00 (morning shift) and 13.00 to approximately 17.30 (afternoon shift).
Selected applicants will be required to attend and successfully complete the relevant training session in order to be offered Invigilator work.
All invigilators must attend one training session. Training sessions for the Canterbury campus will be held on:
- Tuesday 16 April
- Monday 22 April
- Wednesday 24 April
We are also recruiting Invigilators for our Medway campus under job reference INVMED-24 . Please note that you should apply either to Canterbury or to Medway - we are unable to accept applications for both campuses due to availability requirements and potentially overlapping exam schedules at the different campuses.
Unfortunately we cannot accept applications from current Undergraduate (UG) or Postgraduate Taught (PGT) students at the University of Kent. Only external applicants (non-student) or Postgraduate Research students may apply.
You will need to visit us in person with the original copy of your current passport, or other right to work documentation to undertake a right to work check (unless you are an existing employee of the University of Kent). You cannot attend a (mandatory) training session nor work until the check has taken place. You will be provided with details of when and where to go after your application is confirmed as successful.
This advert will close on Wednesday 3 April 2024 at the latest, however, it may close earlier if sufficient applications have been received, so please do not hesitate to apply.
For full details of the duties involved and the skills and abilities required, please refer to the Job Description document available to download below. If you have any questions about the role or application process, please email the Student Record Administration Office via [email protected] .
