Role Description

About the Role

The International Development Manager (UK) is responsible for developing and implementing a strategy for recruiting new fee-paying students from UK.

The primary focus of the strategy will be on growing student numbers through direct channels and managing a portfolio of partnerships with higher education institutions (HEIs) and funding bodies across the region to recruit fee-paying students to Cranfield. This will be achieved by maintaining a database of all formal and informal partnerships across the university; learning from successful partnerships and identifying new opportunities to exploit these insights. Our academic staff play a key role in developing relationships with their counterparts and therefore, you will work closely with colleagues to co-ordinate such initiatives in the region.

You will develop strong relationships with external agencies, such as funding and Professional bodies and companies, and attend recruitment events to engage with students directly in the region.

You will proactively develop and manage a wide range of key internal and external relationships, devising and delivering partnership activities, including managing complex inward and outward visits for senior colleagues, VIPs, and other student visitors.

This role requires evidence-based decision making and therefore, in conjunction with the Marketing Partners, the post-holder will measure and analyse the performance of recruitment activities as part of an ongoing review of recruitment performance in the region.

About You

The University aims to be renowned for its impact and influence - regionally, nationally and internationally. To achieve this aim the Student Recruitment and Admissions team is responsible for developing, informing and delivering the University’s international and student recruitment strategy.

You will have plenty of experience of domestic and international student recruitment and will know how to attract and engage high quality students from a range of markets. You will represent the University nationally and contribute to the University’s Corporate Plan  Ambition 2027. Develop innovative and effective engagement  strategy to raise Cranfield brand and profile and be a key member of the team responsible for the achievement of the University’s targets for student recruitment. You will also be able to demonstrate success in developing and managing effective national and international networks and relationships as well as being a skilled diplomat with deep cultural awareness.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have excellent communication and networking skills being comfortable identifying, researching and building relationships across a range of stakeholders including students, local representatives, Government organisations, partners, alumni, Professional and sponsorship bodies. You will be experienced in higher education student recruitment, and you should be used to working to meet tight deadlines in a pressurised customer focussed environment.
