About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Dining Hall team at Kellogg College as our Deputy Dining Hall Manager (Maternity Cover).

You will play a key role in deputising for the Dining Hall Manager in managing the College’s food service team and ensuring the provision of the highest standards of service across a wide range of food and beverage products whilst maintaining a service environment that is professional and welcoming at all times.

You will be responsible for providing day to day training and supervision of catering assistants, ensuring that core duties are carried out to a high standard, pre-empting problems with catering production and service and act to avert them, making suggestions to the Dining Hall Manager for the enhancement and improvement of the service operations and setting up tables in the Dining Hall ensuring that all necessary items are present and laid neatly, to the correct standard.

You will be joining the University of Oxford’s most international college, with a unique mix of students: it is the University’s leading college for students reading for degrees on a part-time basis and has a strong and vibrant body of full-time students. The College’s wider academic community includes members drawn from across the full range of academic disciplines in the University.

About you 

You will have the ability to multi-task whilst maintaining attention to detail, and good communication skills in order to communicate with colleagues and to be able to deals with any issues raised by college members and guests. You will possess experience in catering and hospitality industry, particularly food service.  You will have a working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook), and a knowledge of wine service.
