Are you interested in innovating how the future online learning at the University of Helsinki will look like? Would you like to participate in the EdTech development in practice and get to test the newest technologies (VR, AI) in education?
The university-wide global campus project at the Digital Teaching and Continuous Learning unit at the University of Helsinki is looking for an intern with international mindset to help to achieve the project goals
Expanding the online offering in English at the University of Helsinki
- Helping faculties to transform their courses and content into innovative online experiences for international students
Creating a platform for quick and innovative EdTech experiments
- Helping the team with testing new approaches e.g. virtual reality environments and AI
- Producing user guides of proven practices for further use
- Innovating new teaching methods and course formats for online learning
What we are looking for
No previous experience with VR or AI technologies or programming skills are needed. We are looking for an intern with an open mind and an interest in learning innovations. The intern will help the teachers in different faculties with online course production, make user guides, help with course video production, and bring the important student perspective into the EdTech product development. We are looking for a creative but organized person who can take the initiative and is not afraid to bring bold ideas to the table.
The working language of the team is English so international students (bachelor/master level) are very welcome to apply. The interns are encouraged to learn Finnish, but Finnish skills are not needed at work.
What we offer
You will get a chance to work with an experienced and dynamic EdTech product developer team (5 persons) who is eager to find out how to apply the latest pedagogical research into action. As an intern, you will get a hands-on experience of the new technologies like virtual reality and AI in education and pilot the new product ideas with the students and teachers.
The team usually works three days a week in the Digihub space in Porthania and the rest of the week remotely. The internship starts in January 2023 and lasts 5 months, but we are flexible and can negotiate start and duration. The internship is full time or part time. Working hours allow you to attend your studies. Requirement for selection is that the internship supports your studies. The intern salary is 1500€/ month (if full time).
Are you interested?
We look forward to receiving your application via recruitment system by 2 January 2023. The applicants can be contacted already during the application period.
