About the Role

Are you an established leader with a proven track record of designing and delivering successful academic leadership development programmes in higher education? Are you looking for an exciting role where you can help us to build strategic academic leadership capacity at Queen Mary?

In this interim role, covering for maternity leave, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of a new comprehensive academic leadership programme. This new programme will develop strategic academic leadership capacity to deliver our ambitious 2030 Strategy through our key areas of education and research.

Working proactively, you will identify institutional and individual needs and commission a range of external providers, alongside individuals with expertise from across the institution, to contribute to the programme.

We are looking for someone who can rapidly build credibility and maintain strong working relationships with a range of senior stakeholders.

About You

We are looking for someone with a significant and current understanding of academic leadership in higher education. You will have significant experience in designing and delivering successful academic leadership development programmes working with senior leaders to deliver institutional strategic priorities.

Your ability to influence and build positive working relationships will be key in launching this new programme. You will also have significant experience of coaching senior leaders in both educational and research contexts.

About the Academy

The Queen Mary Academy offers a comprehensive academic practice development portfolio for educators and researchers at all stages of their careers, from teaching assistants through to the professoriate. Located within the Office of the Principal, the Academy reports to the Vice-Principal (Education) and has a dotted-line report to the Vice-Principal (Research) to ensure strategic alignment in our approach. The Academy works closely with Faculty Deans to ensure close academic involvement in programme delivery.
