1441021JTThe University of Southampton has an exciting opportunity for a full-time, experienced Interim Director to lead its Change Portfolio Office through to the end of 2022, reporting into the Chief Operating Officer.
The Change Portfolio Office (“CPO”) is responsible for managing the successful delivery of the ambitious portfolio of major projects designed to help deliver the University’s strategic goals. The CPO also acts as the University’s organisational portfolio office and centre of excellence for project and programme management. The CPO is a trusted and valued professional service, currently with approximately 20 staff and growing. The project portfolio includes significant change initiatives covering all aspects of the University’s agenda, now also including future ways of working post-COVID.
You will have significant experience of project, programme and portfolio management and the delivery of complex change, be confident working with the University’s senior leadership and display excellent communication skills with the ability to think strategically. You will be a strong people manager, able to manage and motivate the CPO team and balance resources and priorities to deliver most effectively. You will be able to support and steer the development of new ideas through to robust business case and implementation, maintaining a focus on the achievement of strategic objectives.
You will have a skill level (including experience and other qualifications) equivalent to achievement of a professional qualification or postgraduate degree. A PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent agile or traditional project and/or programme management qualification is also required.
