The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) is an employment-focused university, dedicated to ensuring students from diverse backgrounds develop the academic knowledge and practical skills to thrive.

We are now looking for an Innovation Fellow to join our Assistive Technologies Innovation Centre (ATIC) in Swansea.

A core component of ACCELERATE, a collaborative programme delivered in partnership with several Welsh institutions, ATIC is tasked with assisting in the development and realisation of innovative and commercially viable products, services and processes and to support the growth of the Life-Science Sector in Wales. ATiC is an academic partner of the Tritech Institute which develops innovative healthcare technology solutions.

- THE ROLE -

As an Innovation Fellow, you will be responsible for developing, delivering, and leading a portfolio of research projects in collaboration with our partners.

You will be expected to be an important source of expertise, advice and ‘know how’ and a point of reference for others.

- ABOUT YOU –

To be considered as an Innovation Fellow, you will need:

  • Experience of working in a research and development context, and delivering projects within healthcare and/or a medical technology setting
  • Knowledge of applied research methods, experimental design and analysis in a suitable field
  • Evidence of successful research outputs, producing professional reports and contributing to publishing of research in peer-reviewed journals or conferences
  • The ability to identify risks, assess priorities and make sound judgements within a research environment
  • The ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team across a number of projects with diverse industry partners
  • The ability to deal confidentially with sensitive data
  • The ability to use initiative to resolve problems and make decisions that protect the interests of the University
  • A postgraduate degree in a relevant life science or medical technology subject or equivalent industry and/or technology transfer experience
