About the Role

We are seeking an Information Assistant to join our Resources and Collections Team. The Team is responsible for all aspects of the collection management life cycle- this includes acquiring materials, ensuring that they are discoverable and relegating stock. It is intended that the post holder will spend the majority of their time managing eresources. This involves answering enquiries from staff and students, updating user guides, maintaining records on the Library Services Platform and collecting usage statistics.

About You

You will have excellent IT literacy and be able to work with a high level of accuracy when working with detailed information. Problem solving skills and a can-do attitude are crucial for this role. You will be educated to A level standard or equivalent and be committed to providing good customer experience. Relevant experience in an academic library or similar library/information environment is essential.

About Library Services

Library Services is a major part of the Student and Academic Services Directorate, with libraries and study spaces located at three of Queen Mary’s campuses, responsibility for the university archives, and with a strong online presence.
Library Services comprises four teams which work closely together: Library Frontline Services; Library Teaching and Learning Support; Library Resources and Collections and Library Research Support.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is part time (28 hours per week), fixed term appointment for 1 years, with an expected start date of mid-September 2021. The starting salary will be on a grade 3, in the range of £27,742 - £34,220 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
