Full time starting salary is normally in the range of £20,454 to £22,799 per annum, pro rata, with potential progression up to £26,222 per annum, pro rata (17 hours per week)


About the Role

To assist in a range of tasks associated with the acquisition of monographs, textbooks and other material for library collections in order to help ensure access to library resources meet user needs as efficiently and effectively as possible. This will include a number of complex tasks in the acquisitions workflow from ordering print and electronic books, and ensuring both that bibliographic records are available within the Library catalogue and are appropriately sorted, ordered and linked within the Reading List management system. The role-holder will also join the rotas for staffing the service point and responding to resources enquiries from customers.

About You

You should have a good general standard of education (to ‘A’ level or equivalent standard) and have experience in an appropriate library or service environment preferably within the HE sector. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and proven experience in the delivery of high-quality customer service. Previous experience using SirsiDynix Symphony, Talis Aspire, or similar products would be an advantage but are not essential as full training will be provided. 

You will be an organised individual with meticulous attention to detail. You will also be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers across the University.
