The post
The Business School wishes to recruit an Industrial Impact Fellow to support the work of Professor’s Fiona Charnley, Peter Hopkinson and the wider CE-Hub team. You will be responsible for supporting the UKRI National Interdisciplinary Circular Economy Hub (CE-Hub) to develop a targeted and sustained dialogue, and commitment to action, with a priority list of industry sectors to influence awareness, behaviour change and the adoption and implementation of CE solutions.
The CE-Hub is part of the £30M UKRI National Circular Economy Research (NICER) Programme including five UK Circular Economy Centres of Excellence. The Role will involve collaborating with researchers from the CE-Hub, five CE centres and other major UKRI grants, as well as industrial, policy and government stakeholders, to effectively engage the circular economy community in the activities of the programme, as well as synthesising and communicating outputs and outcomes. You will be responsible for developing and delivering research with the potential for high impact using a consistent and repeatable methodology, to be delivered in collaboration with the CE-Hub team.
The post will include:
- Mapping and evaluating the UK industrial landscape to identify the most significant opportunities for Circular Economy implementation,
- Consultation and collaboration with industrial practitioners, policy makers and academics across a range of sectors to identify key challenges and value creation opportunities,
- Research and development of innovations and interventions to accelerate Circular Economy adoption and implementation,
- Creation of reports and other dissemination materials to communicate the findings of the research to a diverse audience,
- Relationship management and the management of business development opportunities,
- Contribution to CE related teaching and learning programmes within the school
About you
You will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.
Applicants will be able to demonstrate sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop a programme of research, experience of using a range of methods and approaches to effectively communicate technical research findings to a diverse range of stakeholders including academic, policy, industrial and societal audiences.
