Bradford Manufacturing Futures

The University has outstanding capabilities & track record in research and innovation with partners in the domains of circular economy and advanced manufacturing. 

We have received grant funding to work with Bradford Council and a consortium of Bradford-based manufacturers on the Bradford Manufacturing Futures project, which will see the development of Local Industrial Decarbonisation Plans at firm, cluster and District levels over 2024. 

The University’s role is to establish a Zero Carbon Knowledge Hub enabling access to and engagement with our academic expertise as part of this project. We require an Industrial Decarbonisation Fellow both to establish the Hub and to develop a plan to sustain it into 2025.

What you will be doing:

  • Establishing a Zero Carbon Knowledge Hub characterised by high-quality research-informed insights & resources for industry.
  • Coordinating collaborative research & innovation activities, encompassing process efficiency, plant management &  circular economy.
  • Building a brand for the Zero Carbon Knowledge Hub, delivering workshops, briefings & other events for a range of stakeholders.
  • Creating a Hub sustainability plan in collaboration with University colleagues.

Qualifications/ experience:

  • PhD in a relevant engineering, technology or management discipline and/or equivalent professional qualifications 
  • Professional research and/or management experience in industrial decarbonisation practice, technologies, assessment methodologies and related fields.
  • A confident communicator able to deliver technical reports and liaise effectively with industry and academic partners.
  • Demonstrable depth and breadth of experience in project management covering the whole project lifecycle.
