Liverpool John Moores University School of Nursing and Advanced Practice is seeking to appoint Independent Assessors for the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice programmes (ACP) End Point Assessment. 

The MSc ACP is open to both direct entry students and apprentice learners. The MSc ACP is offered as an integrated degree apprenticeship comprising of 180 credits. 160 credits will be completed undertaking key modules and the final 20 credits will arise from the completion of an end point assessment (EPA). The end point assessment is a requirement to successfully complete the ACP apprenticeship and resultant confirmation of award. 

This is an exciting opportunity to work flexibly and remotely as an Independent Assessor for the End Point Assessment module which comprises of 20 credits at level 7. The Independent Assessor will work collaboratively with the course team to develop, and quality assure assessment materials and take an active first marker role in the assessment process. 

As an Independent Assessor for the End Point Assessment, you will be expected to: 

  • Have current registration with the NMC or HCPC 
  • Substantial experience of working in an ACP field in an educational or clinical setting 
  • Have completed a minimum of a full master’s degree 
  • Experience of assessing students at masters level.
  • Have had no involvement in the ACP apprenticeship development at the Liverpool John Moores University 
  • Scrutinize samples of examination/essay scripts and other assessed materials, advising module assessment boards on the content and standard of assessments. 
  • Attend the respective EPA assessment board within the academic year. 
  • Advise on academic misconduct and appeal cases. 
  • Submit an annual report to the University Quality Boards.
