The post will be located in the Centre for Research in Ethnic Minority Entrepreneurship (CREME). CREME is the leading Centre of its kind; it is committed to the production and promotion of knowledge that is useful to academic and practitioner communities. CREME is a leading contributor to academic and policy debates on ethnic minority entrepreneurship. It is at the forefront of new developments in the field, many of which have been instrumental in stimulating practitioner activities. We are a dynamic, award-winning research centre headed up by Professor Monder Ram OBE DL and have successfully built up an enviable reputation regionally, nationally, and internationally for our pioneering research and business engagement activities, promoting diversity and enterprise.

This position has been created to support the delivery of recommendations in our ground-breaking research report with NatWest Group: ‘The Time for Change’ Report – Advancing the growth  potential of Ethnic Minority Businesses  (EMBs). Released in May 2022 the next phase of the report is to drive implementation of the report’s recommendations across agencies from Civil Society, and the Private and Public Sectors. 

The candidate should be a post-graduate and hold a good first degree in a relevant subject and preferably have a doctorate in a relevant academic discipline, such as social science, business, or entrepreneurship with experience of research in ethnic minority businesses and/or entrepreneurship and enterprise policy.

The successful candidate should have excellent analytical and data presentation skills and the ability to prepare written communications to a high standard. Additionally, the candidate should have experience of project management, excellent relationship management skills and experiences of working collaboratively with a range of agencies and individuals. There is a requirement to live or be willing to move within commutable distance of Aston University's main campus.
