Deadline: 28 Sep 2022

Innovation Impact & Business

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

This new full-time post is available from 1st November 2022 on a fixed term basis until 31st July 2023.

Summary of the role

An exciting opportunity has opened up to join our bustling Innovation Impact and Business team, focusing on the delivery of communications and external engagement activities in the policy and justice areas. The post holder will work in the new Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences Sector Team, primarily focusing on supporting policy impact for four days a week and the Evidence-Based Justice Lab for one day a week.

As an Impact and Partnership Development Officer (IPDOs) you will be responsible for supporting business engagement, impact development, research collaboration with industry and policy partners, partnership development with regional, national and international stakeholders, and other forms of income generation. We are looking for an organised and proactive Officer, with great customer service skills, a knack for writing engaging copy, and experience in communications, social media and/or events management.

The core of the role will be to support researchers who are interested in engaging with policymakers, as well as promoting Exeter’s world-class research locally, nationally and internationally. The University of Exeter is a member of the national University Policy Engagement Network and is developing strategic relationships with policy stakeholders, which you will be supporting.

You will also support the Evidence Based Justice Lab, an interdisciplinary research group led by Dr Rebecca Helm, specialising in behavioural and data science research. The group apply their research to the legal system and legal arguments to address miscarriages of justice and are engaged externally in a variety of impact activities.

This is an exciting and varied role working on the emerging interface between academia, policy and justice.

Please ensure you read the Job Description and Person Specification for full details of this role.
