About the Role

As an Impact and Engagement Officer, you will partner with professional and academic colleagues to catalyse, stimulate and support impact activities within the departments you support to maximise the difference Northumbria University's research makes to the wider society and economy.   

You will provide training, facilitate an increase in impact activities, and support researchers in developing, delivering and evidencing research impact. You will work with departmental research leaders to contribute towards research impact planning, preparing the foundations for the next UK Research Excellence Framework (REF) impact submission.

We are looking for someone with experience of working in a similar role or one with transferable experience. You will understand the diversity of knowledge exchange activities that can lead to impact as well as the funder and research assessment requirements for impact. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills which will be deployed in various contexts as part of this varied and exciting role.

About the Team

You will be based in the Research Impact Team within the wider leadership of the Assistant Director Impact and IP Commercialisation based in Research and Innovation Services. Reporting to the Research Impact Manager, you will work closely with the impact team's other Impact and Engagement Officers.
