We are seeking to recruit up to 3 process engineers to join the Institute of Compound Semiconductors (ICS) https://www.cardiff.ac.uk/institute-compound-semiconductors/ 

We will soon move into a brand new multi-million pound large scale (8”) cleanroom facility. This will be a Europe-leading capability for compound semiconductor fabrication where researchers and industry will work together to translate academic excellence into practical, manufacturable devices and integrated subsystems for optoelectronic and electronic device applications. 

In this post you will follow and implement new fabrication processes and will be expected to establish process control methodologies to monitor performance and yield, and to maintain process capability. You will have an established expertise and a proven portfolio of cleanroom device fabrication skills, in particular knowledge of  photolithography, PECVD on III-V substrates and/or die separation and packaging would be an advantage.

Initially based in the existing Cardiff University facility you will be a key member in effecting the transition to the new 1500m2 ICS facility in 2022.

This position is full time (35 hours per week) open-ended with start dates mid September 2021 onwards.

Salary: £34,304 - £40,927 per annum (Grade 6)
