Introduction

Southampton Institute for Arts and Humanities (SIAH) supports a wide-range of socially engaged creative and critical research. It brokers collaborative partnerships, placements and innovative approaches to knowledge exchange.  SIAH sits within the University of Southampton, a world-leading, research-intensive university, with a strong and high-quality educational offering, we are renowned for our innovation and enterprise and are within the top 1% of universities worldwide.

The role and about you

SIAH is able to offer a fixed term until 31/05/2025 full-time post to support our work in knowledge exchange and enterprise. The post holder will support SIAH colleagues as they deepen their networks and collaborations with external organisations in the region and create new large funding and enterprise opportunities. These institutions may include local authorities, community groups as well as galleries, libraries, archives and museums. The role will involve a combination of in-person meetings, community and professional engagement as well as some scoping and desk-research.

You will bring a solid understanding of academic research and partnerships in the context of the Arts and Humanities. An enterprising self-starter, with strong project management skills, you’ll have the ability to think strategically, plan effectively, and negotiate productive partnerships.

What we can offer you

As a university, we aim to create an environment where everyone can thrive and are proactive in fostering a culture of inclusion, respect and equality of opportunity. We believe that we can only truly meet our objectives if we are reflective of society, so we are passionate about creating a working environment in which you are free to bring your whole self to work.

With a generous holiday allowance as well as additional university closure days we are committed to supporting our staff and students and open to a flexible working approach.

If you wish to discuss the role in more detail, please email Nicky Marsh ([email protected] )
