An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Human Resources (HR) team in the Department for Continuing Education.
Supported by the Deputy Administrator, who will maintain overall responsibility for HR within the Department, you will oversee the operational HR function, with responsibility for the delivery of an effective HR and recruitment service to the Department (some 200 employees and over 1000 tutors). Taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of the office, you will also oversee the work of two, grade 4 assistants.
You will provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on all aspects of employment and take the lead on HR case work. There will be also be opportunities to review processes and procedures, updating them in light of policy changes or regulatory developments.
You are likely to be qualified to CIPD graduate level or above, or have equivalent experience, and will have proven experience in a human resources operation within a complex operation. With sound knowledge and experience of the application of UK employment law and UKBA regulations, you will be able to develop professional and effective working relationships with key stakeholders. HR experience with the University of Oxford or other higher education institutions.
