HR Officer (fixed term)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a fixed term HR Officer in the Department of Chemistry for a period of up to 2 years.

Reporting to the Deputy Head of HR, you will be working with a Senior HR Officer and three other HR Officers in a high activity department. The role involves providing an HR service for specific allocated groups within the Department, building effective working relationships with the Principal Investigators and their staff, performing and overseeing end to end processes in relation to the co-ordination of recruitment, from application stage through to appointment and induction. You will provide generalist HR administration and support, overseeing work permit information for the department and providing policy assistance in relation to the University’s processes and procedures.

The successful applicant will have previous HR generalist experience, ideally gained within a Higher Education environment. You will have excellent communications skills, and the ability to build strong and effective working relationships with a range of people. The role requires high levels of accuracy and attention to detail and you will need to be well organised and able to manage your time effectively to meet deadlines. You will have good IT skills using Microsoft Office, and you will ideally have knowledge of People XD or other Oracle based HR systems.

Whilst this is a full time role we would consider a part-time appointment.
