The Faculty of Life Sciences and Education is looking to appoint Hourly Paid Lecturers to assist in course delivery within the Health & Social Care subject area. The USW Health & Social Care subject area has over 700 student enrolments across various Undergraduate and Postgraduate Degree courses.
The role is based remotely and the casual nature of the work will enable you to undertake the work around existing professional and personal commitments.
The role specifically will be as an External Marker where you are required to grade student coursework and provide detailed feedforward within 20 working days of the submission deadline. Enrolment on these courses can exceed 200 students meaning that teams of external markers are supported by an Academic Member of staff to complete the work in a timely manner.
Successful candidates will be offered an hourly paid lecturing contract with the University of South Wales at an hourly rate of £19.60 (Marking Only). Successful candidates will mark Undergraduate work from Level 4-6 in the following areas: Social Work, Health Wellbeing & Social Care Management, Childhood Studies and Community Health & Wellbeing.
We are looking for skilled professionals with prior experience of Learning and Teaching within Further or Higher Education. Successful candidates must possess excellent English spelling and grammatical skills, an ability to work with Marking software (e.g. TurnItin, Blackboard Assignments, Panopto) and previous marking experience is desirable. You will also need to prioritise workload and possess the ability to manage your time effectively.
For an informal conversation about this post please contact Owain Jones [email protected] If you are interested in applying, please send your CV and cover letter to Mr. Owain Jones (Head of Subject – Health & Social Care) via email: [email protected]
Applications will be considered on submission and we reserve the right to close the positions earlier if sufficient applications are received.
