HOURLY PAID LECTURER - CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT AND QUANTITY SURVEYING

Special conditions: £44.45 per direct delivered hour. This includes the following elements: delivery, preparation and assessment of the scheduled programme of work.  (Flat rate of £17.78 per hour will be paid for completing one of the above elements of the schedule).

We are seeking to recruit lecturers who are available to work during the academic year and will be paid on an hourly basis with expertise in one or more of  the following areas:

  • Legal studies associated with construction projects  e.g. General Contract Law
  • Contract Administration
  • Construction Project Management
  • Measurement and Costing
  • Building Engineering Science and Architectural Science
  • Construction Technology and Modern Methods of Construction
  • Digital Construction
  • Sustainability – zero net
  • Financial and Management Studies e.g. Analysis of Company Accounts

Within the Construction Management Subject Area there are a number of opportunities to support teaching and delivery. You will work under the direction of the Academic Team Leader in delivering high quality teaching and learning to undergraduate and/or postgraduate students. Duties will include preparation, delivery, and marking where required. You will be expected to deliver lectures and run seminars/workshops.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to communicate ideas of a complex or technical nature to students effectively using a variety of teaching methods, have detailed knowledge of the particular subject area through significant teaching, and/or industry experience.
