The Medical Research Council Toxicology Unit, located at the University of Cambridge, is an internationally renowned institution focused on the delivery of field-changing mechanistic insights into toxicology and disease. The histopathology facility houses state-of-the art facilities for research histological methods and provides specialist histology support to our research groups.
The role holder will be a part of the histopathology team providing a high-quality service across a range of methods including formalin fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) histology, tissue micro array (TMA) construction, in situ assays including immunohistochemistry and RNAScope (chromogenic, fluorescent and multiplex), histological slide imaging (Hamamatsu Nanozoomer, Akoya Vectra), and image analysis (Path XL, Visiopharm, Akoya InForm). The role holder is expected to provide support, training, and advice to Unit researchers, and to support the histopathology manager in the smooth running of the facility.
Applicants should have a qualification equitable to HND/HNC, level 4/5 vocational qualifications; or an equivalent level of practical experience; or NHS Biomedical science training in histopathology. Applicants should have an enthusiasm to learn and optimise new procedures and techniques.

This is a permanent and core-funded position, with MRC funding available up to March 2023 in the first instance.
