The University is now looking to appoint an exceptional and collegial Head to lead the School of Law and Criminology Into the next stage of its evolution. Reporting to the Executive Dean, the Head will lead the strategic and operational development of the School as it aims to become recognised nationally and internationally as student focused, academically robust, externally engaged, commercial and innovative. They will maintain Hope’s outstanding and leading student experience whilst promoting a culture of academic research. They will also demonstrate the capacity and appetite for developing partnerships, internally within the University, and externally at the local, national, and international level. The successful candidate should have the experience and knowledge to develop a robust business plan for the School, which will include; student recruitment and retention priorities, staffing plans, curriculum development and research and knowledge exchange plans.

Substantive position

In conjunction with the Head of school a substantive role will be offered at a senior level, commensurate with the skills and experiences of the successful candidate. The successful candidate will either possess a strong academic record operating at or near professorial level, and / or be able to demonstrate a track record of senior professional practice experience, and possess substantive experience in developing strategic relationships from a HEI setting. Within these broad criteria the University is open to applications from candidates who demonstrate the appropriate leadership qualities commensurate with the post.
