About the Department

The University of Gloucestershire is embarking on an exciting journey to transform the institution. The Strategic Planning and Transformation department sits within the CFO function which is responsible for driving the university’s commercial, finance, institutional governance, transformation and strategic project delivery. The Head of PMO and Transformation reports to the Director of Strategic Planning and will lead the University’s project office and delivery of change projects across the University. The University’s project portfolio includes major estates development projects, reviewing our business processes and implementing new IT systems. The team champions the University’s programme of continuous improvement.

About the role

The Head of PMO and Transformation will join the new university leadership team and will join a team who drives forward strategic change programmes across the institution. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of a portfolio of projects, working with academic schools and professional services teams. You will manage our team of project managers, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. You will be passionate about building great working relationships with a range of stakeholders at all levels, and will have significant programme and/or project management experience. You will lead on the design, implementation and delivery of our project management framework and will work with stakeholders to ensure there are robust project management processes and tools in place, and that project activity is properly prioritised and resourced. You will lead on delivery of strategic programmes, translating strategies into targeted initiatives and achievable project deliverables, develop programme plans, track progress and lead on the management of programme risks, issues, and dependencies. Many of our projects are grant funded and you will also support the development and submission of strategic bids for capital funds.
