Head of Philanthropy (Health & Wellbeing)(Maternity Cover)

We have an exciting opportunity to join the University of Bath’s growing Advancement Office as our maternity cover for Head of Philanthropy for Health and Wellbeing research.

 About the role

This role is a 12-month maternity cover, from March 2024 until March 2025. This is an opportunity to lead in raising philanthropic funds for the University of Bath's Health-focused research priorities.

The post holder will be experienced in major gift fundraising. You will manage a portfolio with approximately 100 prospective donors, including High-Net-Worth Individuals (alumni and non-alumni), companies, and trusts. You will work closely with colleagues within the department and across the University to secure 6 figure gifts and achieve agreed annual fundraising targets.

This role is offered on a part-time (28.2 hours per week)(0.9FTE)

About you 

  • Experience raising 5, 6 and 7-figure philanthropic gifts, managing the process from cultivation to stewardship.
  • Confident and personable, with strong relationship management skills and the ability to communicate with colleagues and donors at all levels.
  • Able to convey information in an engaging way, through proposals and reports.
  • Understand all relevant legislation relating to data protection and fundraising best practices.
