Role Description

Cranfield Management Development Limited (CMDL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cranfield University. We already have a prestigious international portfolio and were the first to offer a Level 7 Senior Leaders qualification under the Government Apprenticeship scheme.

About the Role

CMDL largely supports a portfolio of customised and open enrolment executive programmes offered through Cranfield Executive Development (CED). This includes partnering and collaboration with Cranfield’s School of Management Faculty and Administrative departments.

Our desire to maintain our steep growth trajectory, requires us to source a talented individual to engage the executive education markets that Cranfield Executive Development serve by leading the delivery of marketing & communications activities and developing the brand platform.

To support this work, we are currently looking to recruit a credible, influential and proactive individual who relishes the opportunity to bring world-class development interventions that delight client sponsors and delegates alike both within the UK and globally.

The role offers the opportunity to devise strategic and tactical marketing plans in consultation with CED and wider stakeholders, negotiate, set and meet strategic KPI’s in line with university and business level strategy.

Our customers are both external (delegates and their client sponsors) and internal (academic staff, associates, and other colleagues working within Executive Development).  As an influential collaborator, you will work with the Portfolio Director, Head of Sales, and members of the CED management team to achieve brand awareness and revenue targets across a range of solutions under your remit including Open Executive Programmes, Custom Programmes, Levy funded solutions and digital courses for the B2B market.

About You

As an inspirational leader you will head up a high-performing team of marketers and utilise market research, web, digital, brand, creatives, campaigns, events and thought leadership content to sustainably recruit leaders and managers to Cranfield programmes and solutions.

Cranfield is committed to being client-focussed and putting the client at the heart of everything we do. This brings the successful applicant the opportunity to work in a variety of ways with a wide range of organisations, sectors, and individuals.

To be successful in this role you will need to develop a deep understanding of the Executive Education sector, client needs, marketing strategy and tactics and its integration with sales, along with previous experience of campaign leadership, digital marketing, collaborating with senior leaders, and providing expert advice on marketing and communications issues. You will bring knowledge of marketing channels to develop sales leads, revenues and brand profile, strategic planning (Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning), and a deep understanding of the customer journey experience (including online) and its impact on conversion rates.

A creative, imaginative and flexible team leader you will bring an evidence-based approach to strategic or tactical decision making. Further you will have the ability to be resourceful in taking forward new developments, negotiate, persuade and influence people at every level, and foster creativity in others.

It is essential that the post-holder is strongly literate and numerate, can think on their feet, has the resilience to work independently, and has the credibility to influence senior executives and nurture relationships.
