Queen Mary Academy
Post title: Head of Education Programmes
Post ref: QMUL 28631
About the Role
Are you a leader with in-depth knowledge of effective pedagogy in higher education and experience of coordinating a development portfolio for educators? Are you looking for a new and exciting role where you can help shape the future of education at Queen Mary?
This is an exciting opportunity for you to lead the team which plays a pivotal role in supporting our educators, ensuring that provision is responsive and aligned with Queen Mary’s ambitious strategic objectives.
Working collaboratively, you will build strong and collaborative relationships with key leaders and stakeholders at Faculty and School/Institute level.
You will lead a review of our existing credit-bearing programmes, ensuring that provision is aligned with our Education Approach and strategic priorities and embedding reflective practice across the full range of the team's delivery.
A key priority will be leading the development and delivery of new education programmes. We are committed to supporting educators at all stages of their career, so this will include a new programme of discipline-relevant training for postgraduate research students who teach.
You will be responsible for achieving ambitious targets for recognition of our staff though Advance HE Fellowship, including implementation of a new dialogic approach to assessment.
You will also lead and/or contribute to university-wide strategic projects with a focus on education development, managing the strategic project work of the team to successful, impactful, and timely completion.
About You
You will need authoritative knowledge of effective pedagogy in higher education, alongside significant experience of coordinating a development portfolio for educators.
You will have experience of leading large scale change projects in HE, with the ability to influence and build positive working relationships.
You’ll also need to demonstrate a proven track record of designing and delivering successful education programmes for academic staff which deliver institutional strategic priorities.

The Academy also works closely with academic, doctoral college, research services, academy registry and council secretariat, and professional development colleagues.
