Communications and External Relations brings together the main areas involved in leading the University's strategic positioning and profile. Engaging with students, staff and stakeholders we promote the University's excellence in research and education, and ensure its profile is communicated in a consistent way. Duties of the role

We are looking for an experienced marketing professional to lead the University’s Essex Business School marketing team.

You will be responsible for managing the implementation of Essex Business School’s marketing plans, communicating with stakeholders at all levels, and directing the day-to-day activities of the team. You will be pivotal in developing a creative mind set amongst the team, and energy and vision are key.

With responsibility for managing all marketing activities, specifically relating to student recruitment, you will lead a team responsible for promoting Essex Business School to prospective students in a way that is authentic and compelling. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real contribution to the continued growth and development of the School.

Skills and qualifications required

You will have a degree or equivalent professional qualification, excellent communication skills, experience of management within a marketing role, and the ability to manage a challenging and varied workload whilst working to tight deadlines. In addition you will be creative and personable, with the ability to inspire colleagues. This fixed-term maternity cover, full-time post is based at our Colchester Campus, but some travel to our Southend Campus will be required.

In response to COVID-19 the University has implemented adjusted working arrangements for many staff, with a significant number working remotely. At the time of a job offer, remote and campus working will be discussed and considered on an individual basis but you will be expected to be based within the UK.
