JOB OVERVIEW

The Head of Digital Learning Delivery’s role is the most senior representation of Study Group in the Global Digital Learning Hub. The role is accountable for delivering high-quality academic provision and student satisfaction whilst meeting commercial expectations and agreed KPIs, including:

  • To build and manage the capability and capacity for all programmes in the Global Digital Learning Hub; and
  • To be accountable for student outcomes, including the progression of students studying via the Global Digital Learning Hub.

The successful candidate will be able to drive strong student outcomes across multiple online programmes and digital student services. Student satisfaction must remain high at all parts of the digital learning journey and appropriate mechanisms in place to gain insights and data from all key stakeholders.

Efficiency in delivery is essential and the role requires a strong commercial mindset in order to drive down Cost per Student Week (CpSW) and reduce non-value-add activity.

The successful candidate will be involved in the implementation and future evolution of the new Global Digital Learning Hub as part of Study Group’s strategic approach to growing its online products and digital services; so, an interest in driving innovation would be of benefit and a solution-focused mindset essential.

Nurturing talent is important for Study Group and this role will require the candidate to effectively support all staff members to learn and grow during the implementation of the Hub and its future growth trajectory. Strong experience in line management is essential, and the successful candidate must have an ability to set out clear ways of working, whilst promoting collaboration and providing a challenge.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the day-to-day running of the Global Digital Learning Hub, including the effective management of staff and students.
  • Deliver consistently high student outcomes including strong progression, low attrition and high completion rates
  • Demonstrate positive student and staff feedback
  • Drive cost-effectiveness across the Hub to ensure key outcomes are achieved
  • Maintain excellence in the application of relevant internal and external quality and compliance requirements
  • Support the Learning Delivery Director TNE in the initial set-up of the Global Digital Learning Hub and subsequent development opportunities as identified via the project
  • Act as the critical stakeholder between the GDL Hub and other key stakeholders including the Partner, Product, Sales, Student Experience and Learning Effectiveness teams
  • Proactively engage in the global network, ensuring that cross-function initiatives, frameworks and processes are adopted in a timely manner
  • Maintain a strong local Governance as required by relevant SG policies and procedures
  • Effectively plan the delivery requirements and ensure appropriate staffing levels are in place to deliver an optimum student experience (including the recruitment of staff).
  • Act as the conduit to ensure a frictionless working methodology between the Digital Development team, Insendi colleagues and the Digital Learning Delivery team

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Teaching qualification or experience.
  • Leadership and management training.
  • Leadership and management experience in a teaching and learning environment
  • Experience of working in HE or FE environments
  • Experience in leading and facilitating change
  • Experience in teaching international students
  • Experience in planning and running complex education courses and programmes
  • Experience in partnership working or partnership management in the education sector.
  • Strong and demonstrable skills in the use of digital platforms, services, packages, and the use of IT.
