The role

We are seeking to appoint a Head of Degree Apprenticeship Performance, Senior Lecturer (Education and Scholarship).

The post will include having responsibility for monitoring and managing the performance of all Degree Apprenticeship programmes within the Centre for Degree Partnerships and their associated operational administration, curriculum development, and quality management and enhancement (including accreditation by relevant professional institutions where appropriate). You will work with the Associate Dean of Students for Degree Apprenticeships to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of teaching programmes in accord with the University’s education strategy and implementing the External Affairs strategy. You will also support in the strategic development of systems and processes to support the growth of degree apprenticeship and compliance with external stakeholders.

You will also be required to work closely with the Exeter Innovation Degree Apprenticeship team to identify and support development of best practice to meet the needs of this employer-led provision.

About you

For a Senior Lecturer post you will:

  • Possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by an academic or professional qualification to Masters level or PhD in a business/ management related discipline, in order to teach and support learning on academic modules.
  • Have experience of managing teams and/or functions in a busy environment with conflicting priorities.
  • Possess an in-depth understanding of all aspects that make up a Degree Apprenticeship Programme to enable the development of new knowledge and understanding in the field.
  • Understand the governance and regulatory requirements for all aspects of Degree Apprenticeships.
  • Process a deep and current understanding of the multiple stakeholder requirements for Degree Apprenticeships including ESFA, Ofsted, IFATE, OfS and the Apprenticeship Accountability Framework
  • Contribute to the design, development and delivery a range of modules or programmes at various levels; applying innovative and appropriate teaching techniques; identifying sources of funding and securing funds for own scholarly activities and providing academic leadership to those working within programme areas.
  • Have experience of coordinating programmes for Degree Apprenticeship that have a none standard delivery pattern
  • Be expected to work towards Principle Fellow of the HEA and to attend formal CPD relating to this.
