Role Description

Cranfield University School of Management welcomes applications to our exciting Head of Business Development & Student Recruitment role. As we continue to grow on a global scale, Cranfield School of Management is looking for a Head of Business Development & Student Recruitment with growth strategy at their core. Bringing together D2C and B2B opportunities, this role will focus primarily on the growth and global reach of our Full-time MBA, Executive MBA, award-bearing apprenticeships and digital portfolio leading the Business Development team in student recruitment and corporate sales opportunities

About the Role

This role sits within the Strategic Marketing, Business Development and Partnerships team within the School of Management. This team is responsible for three key areas of activity:

  • Marketing for our executive award bearing programmes our Full-time MBA, Executive MBA, award-bearing apprenticeships and digital portfolio: full accountability and budgetary responsibility for the end-to-end marketing of our Full-time MBA, Executive MBA, award-bearing apprenticeships and digital portfolio.
  • Student recruitment and admissions for our Full-time MBA, Executive MBA, award-bearing apprenticeships and digital portfolio: student recruitment, conversion and lead nurturing for each of our cohorts.
  • Partnerships: covering academic and business partnerships, delivering academic study tours, ownership of school rankings and accreditations.

The world of postgraduate education is constantly changing, and with over 50 years of success so far, Cranfield has a strong presence in this space. As we navigate our next chapter of growth, we are looking for a Head of Business Development to drive our growth agenda in the direct to student and B2B space.

As a core strategic role for the school, there is scope to work closely with the Head of Marketing to develop lead generation strategies and truly own and drive the nurturing and conversion process. You’ll have full ownership of our pipeline and work closely with wider Cranfield University colleagues throughout the full admissions process. From working on tenders with large corporates, through to direct interviewing of potential students, this role has potential to be different every day.

About You

As the Head of Business Development, you will drive the student recruitment strategy, with full ownership of the sales funnel across our MBA, Executive MBA and DBA portfolio. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate proven experience in business development and the required understanding of the MBA market and student recruitment. In addition, they will have prior experience of working at Executive Committee Level and will be able demonstrate the ability to lead on the development of innovation solutions that contribute to strategic change. Higher education or corporate sector experience along with an MBA would be beneficial but not a mandatory factor in our recruitment.
