We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Handyperson to join our Facilities team!

It will be part of the Handy Person role to contribute towards creating an inclusive culture where all our students and staff recognise themselves in those that surround them and can bring their whole selves to the University.
Key Responsibilities
Working both inside and outside campus buildings, you will carry out a variety of maintenance tasks, from changing a tap washer, painting an office, to completing Statutory Checks, such Fire Alarm Testing. Plenty of opportunity to get your steps in with being on your feet all day!
You will work a 5 day week, Monday to Friday, the hours of which can vary between 0800 and 0000. Most shifts are 0800-1600 or 1600 to 0000. If you are successful and are required to work the late shift an additional allowance will be paid.
Whilst working on your own initiative in the main but also as part of the wider Estates team, your communication skills and exceptional customer care skills will shine through in this role, as you complete your general maintenance tasks and tend to the queries and situations that arise daily. You will arrange, carry out and update customers on the various works we are required to complete. Reporting on all of the situations that make up your day is essential. This is the time to show off those excellent writing skills!
A bit about Estates and Property Services…
Estates & Facilities Services Directorate is responsible for delivering a full estates and facilities management service to the University, including property maintenance, planned maintenance and renovation, cleaning, security, caretaking and facilitating spaces for our staff and students.
The Facilities Management team sits within the Estates and Property Service Division. Their core objective is to provide an essential and critical Facilities Management services across all campuses, to ensure the buildings and general estates are pleasant, fit for purpose and functional for everyone.
