The Directorate of External Relations aims to enhance the reputation of the University through effective engagement with a wide range of stakeholders, external and internal, and thus support income generation. It includes student recruitment and admissions, marketing, corporate communications, internal communications, alumni and development, web services, creative services and events and public engagement.

The University of Dundee seeks a talented Graphic Designer to join it’s small, busy and highly creative Team. The post sits within the Creative Services Team comprising of designers, photographers, filmmakers and inhouse Print Unit. The role includes a the designing the full range of design materials both in digital and print based, including exhibitions, posters, brochures, leaflets, event campaigns.

A strong understanding of brand and creativity and an attention to detail is essential along with the ability to communicate and present to a diverse range of clients.

The team is highly experienced so this post may appeal to a younger designer keen to learn with a focus on problem solving creativity. This post offers the opportunity to work at a high level of design and production as part of a highly talented team.

Your priorities will include:

  • A clear understanding of brand
  • A clear understanding of the universities branding and values
  • To have a solid understanding of Adobe Creative Suite
  • To have an attention to detail and solid typographic understanding
  • Knowledge of the print industry and to be able to set up files for print

Who we’re looking for:

  • A talented designer with a strong portfolio of work
  • The ability to discuss projects with clients, interpret requirements and delivery results both visually and verbally
  • The ability to deliver results for individuals/departments/schools within the remit of the universities brand
  • The ability to work as part of a small team. To partake in detailed discussion of your work and that of other team members.
  • The ability to manager projects, timescales and administration, to record and store all projects accurately including any financial records within our systems.
