About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Grants Coordinator to join the Department of Oncology finance team. You will be supporting the team in a busy Grants office, handling upward of 150 active grant funding streams and 150 cost centres. As a key member of the team you will help ensure the smooth management and reporting of parts of the department's large and complex grant portfolio. This is a full-time post, offered as fixed-term for two years in the first instance.

Main duties of the role include: preparing costings of new grant applications and awards using X5 software and transferring the figures onto sponsor forms and online grant application systems, carrying out awarded grant set-ups, assisting with the monthly income and expenditure reports and maintaining data on the in-house grants database. You will manage the suspense account and pre-award accounts for grants, ensuring balances and transferred out in a timely fashion. You will assist with grants and other related journals and accruals, accurately following specific procedures, and assist with the provision of regular and ad hoc reports from the in-house grants database for management meetings, including Executive Committees.

The post is offered on a full-time basis, fixed-term for two years.

About you

You will be educated to A-Level or equivalent and have proven experience of using complex computerised accounting systems. You will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent IT skills, particularly advanced use in Excel, is also a requirement.
