The Research and Knowledge Exchange (RKE) supports research funding, partnering and enterprise across the University.  Working in the RKE, you will support the development of research grants and contracts from a range of funders including UKRI, Charities, EC and Central/Local Government. 

Your responsibilities will include the identification and targeting of funding opportunities, the provision of advice on terms and conditions, the review and set up of successful awards and support for the negotiation of research contracts. Reporting to the Research Contracts Specialist you also work closely with the Strategic Funding Managers in RKE to ensure a seamless support for grants and contracts administration.

You will join a friendly team that is focused on delivering a professional service to key stakeholders of the University. The ability to work collaboratively across other teams and cultivate good relationships is essential to the role.

Aligned with our ambitious Research Strategy you will have an interest in research, excellent written and verbal communication skills and a passion for providing an excellent service. The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent professional experience/qualification, excellent organisational and planning skills alongside experience of drafting and negotiating contracts. Previous experience of research funding in Higher Education would be an advantage. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a mixture of relationship and analytical skills.

We are looking to recruit this maternity cover post to include an overlap with the current role holder.
