This NERC-GCRF funded post is available immediately, on a part-time (0.5FTE) fixed term basis, for a period of three months.
This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.
The post
The Faculty wishes to recruit a Graduate Research Assistant to support the work of Professor Frank van Veen. The successful applicant will assist with the development of digital field data collection methodologies and associated data management.
The post will include designing and field-testing Cybertracker software forms, developing robust data management protocols in compliance with our legal obligations and providing training to Indonesian NGO and university staff on the use of these methods.
About you
The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.
Applicants will be educated to first degree level or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study or equivalent experience and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. Applicants will be able to convert scientific protocols into effective Cybertracker forms, have at least basic proficiency in the Indonesian language, must be in possession of a current relevant Indonesian research permit and must be willing to travel to Indonesia for several months.
