The ASK Academic Skills service offers student-facing learning development support across a wide range of areas, including academic writing, study skills, mathematics and statistics. Within the Academic Skills service transition initiatives, such as Peer Assisted Learning, play a vital role. The strategic expansion of PAL across the institution continues to provide important support for the learning and academic development of all level 4 students.
The Transition Graduate Assistant will play an integral role in supporting these and other initiatives as part of the transition team. Applicants must demonstrate resourcefulness, creative thinking, teamworking and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders whilst managing multiple tasks in a busy environment. A commitment to supporting the transition of new students into university study is also essential.
Graduate students who have previously worked as a HeadStart Ambassador, Senior PAL Leader and/or PAL Leader are particularly encouraged to apply.
