The Student Academic Success and Partnership (SASP) team in the Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT) has a role in supporting student learning and academic development through a range of projects including a university-wide peer learning scheme called Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS); the online Academic Study Kit (ASK) resources and study workshops; mentoring schemes; personal development and student engagement projects.

One of the main projects focused on through the internship is the Peer Assisted Study Session (PASS) scheme . It is a student-led initiative where student volunteers are trained to facilitate weekly informal small group study sessions for first year students. PASS is coordinated by the SASP Team and runs in departments across the university.

We are looking for a highly motivated University of Brighton graduate who has experience as a student in being involved in SASP projects such as PASS and ASK, in order to provide support in the development of PASS and other SASP projects across the university.  The main areas of responsibility will be to provide support in the recruitment, training and supervision of student SASP Leaders for PASS and ASK; assisting in the development, administration and evaluation of the schemes; and providing support in organising SASP events and disseminating SASP practice in workshops, presentations and conferences.

As a highly motivated, champion of student engagement you will be proactive and able to work independently and to meet deadlines.

The role is fixed term for 13 months, starting in September 2017.  Job sharers welcome.
