The Professional Development Centre (PDC) is looking for an innovative graduate to join the Careers team. Based in a higher education careers service, the role can be as diverse as it can be demanding. From dealing with initial queries from students, to marketing events and activities on social media and generally enhancing the digital output of the service and careers information staff need to be able to demonstrate a range of skills and approaches.

You will be responsible for supporting the work of the careers and employability skills team. This will include dealing with initial careers queries from students, organising appointments and helping with facilitation and administration during careers conferences and workshops. Under the supervision of the Careers Information Adviser, you will also contribute to developing and maintaining the online careers information service and provide appropriate and timely responses to general and specialist enquiries from students, actively promoting our services to all groups. Under the supervision of Careers Consultants, you will research opportunities and disseminate to relevant student cohorts. You will also contribute to the work of the Employability Skills Team on projects such as the READY Programme and Brunel Plus Award.

The successful candidate will be a recent Brunel graduate with a good understanding of higher education and graduate employability. You will possess strong communication, administration, IT and analytical skills. You will display a flexible, can-do approach and be willing to become involved in all PDC activities. In addition, the ability to write content for social media and online newsletters will be key.
