Qmotion is the Students’ Union run Sport & Fitness Centre, located on the Mile End campus, and provides students, staff and the wider community with diverse and inclusive fitness facilities and services to enable an active lifestyle.

The success of these facilities and services depends on having staff that are self-motivated, highly skilled, and passionate about the organisation. The facilities are open seven days per week, from early in the morning until late at night and all staff are expected to be able to work shifts that cover these hours.

We are seeking a graduate fitness coach to provide our users with the best possible experience and to assist with the delivery of our strength and conditioning programme. You will be responsible for providing guidance and assistance to users of the fitness areas, ensuring all areas of the facility are clean and free from hazards, and improving member experience through the proactive promotion and delivery of our fitness services including inductions, group exercise classes and events.

You will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of strength and conditioning services for our student athletes with the aim of improving performance. This will include creation and delivery of individual and group programmes,  assisting in the selection and implementation of appropriate monitoring strategies to assess key aspects of performance, and working closely with key stakeholders both within and external to the university, including athletes, coaches, and senior management. It is expected that the provision of strength and conditioning services will account for between 10-20% of the role at this current time.

You will work closely with the general manager and fitness manager, assisting with the implementation of fitness services offered to members with the aim of increasing activity levels of the Queen Mary University of London community and ensuring excellent customer experience. You will also be responsible for assisting the fitness manager with the inducting and onboarding of new team members and development of the existing team through ongoing training.

The post is a full-time position with an indefinite contract. Starting salary will be between £22,212- £27, 2034 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.  Benefits include 30 days annual leave, plus university closure days, free gym membership, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
