The Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery (RAMM) in Exeter, are seeking an enthusiastic graduate to take on the role of Audience Development Assistant. The appointee will be employed but the University of Exeter and seconded to RAMM. The role involves involves fundraising; administration; liaison; research and marketing. This role is available for 6 months, with the possibility of extension.

The main duties of this role will be to provide support to the Audience Development Lead, through organising meetings, minute taking, providing a central point of contact and liaising with partner organisations and colleagues. The appointee will also be responsible for certain research, through gathering data using RAMM's Customer Relationship Management System and booking system as well as from visitor surveys and other sources. They will also be expected to provide marketing assistance, including researching websites, entering event information on websites, and assisting with the marketing of The Shop at RAMM. The appointee will also have the opportunity to work on fundraising, to attract funding to the museum and assist with photo opportunities for the museum.

We are looking for a graduate with excellent organisational and administrative skills with good attention to detail and computer literacy, including skills in the use of MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel. The successful candidate will also have experience of problem solving and overcoming obstacles with the ability to work collaboratively and as part of a team with shared objectives. They must also possess excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills. Candidates should also have knowledge of marketing and audience development and an enthusiasm for museums and culture. Experience/knowledge of project management skills is also desirable as well as the willingness to undertake evening and weekend work, and in school holidays. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of fundraising, experience of using a customer relations database and an enthusiasm for museums and culture. Interview date is set for 6th September 2017.
